Bhopal: Lashing out at the Centre for its
alleged step-motherly treatment of Madhya Pradesh, state unit of BJP Friday said the Congress had no right to "maltreat" the people here.
BJP is in power in Madhya Pradesh not due to the mercy of
the Congress. The party had no right to treat the state in
such a manner, MP BJP president Prabhat Jha told reporters
"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh knows a lot about economics
but it appears that he has no knowledge of the country`s
federal system. The Congress is free to humiliate and insult
the BJP or its government in the state but it should not
maltreat the seven crore citizens of the state," he said.
Jha said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will
undertake a fast from February 13 to protest the manner in
which the Centre is neglecting genuine demands of Madhya
Chouhan would conduct the fast from Dusshera Maidan in
the BHEL area and will do all his official work from that
place, he said.
The fast would not be indefinite but its duration has not
been decided yet, he said, adding Chouhan would undertake the
