Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur stirred up controversy after he reportedly said that crime against women is less in Chennai as they are “fully-clothed.”

The remarks were made by the former CM of the state when he was addressing people after inaugurating Ayodhaya Nagarpolice station.

He reportedly said that the police officials in Chennai told him that women are religious and wear full attire, hence crime against them is less.

Reacting after the controversial remark, Gaur reportedly said, “I will now speak less.”

It is not the first time when Gaur has made such remarks. He earlier said that 'foreign culture' of women wearing jeans and T-shirts, drinking liquor and dancing with other men is not good for India.

However, he added, that women should decide what is good or bad for them.
