Madhya Pradesh CM announces assistance for family of deceased soldier

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday announced assistance for the family of Lance Naik Gyan Singh Parihar, who died recently, besides announcing to name a road after him.

Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday announced assistance for the family of Lance Naik Gyan Singh Parihar, who died recently, besides announcing to name a road after him.

Lance Naik Parihar died during his posting at the border in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir after suffering heart attack on October 4.

His last rites were performed here today with military honours.

Chouhan took part in Parihar's last journey and also shouldered the body.

The Chief Minister told reporters that his government will take care of the soldier's family and announced to name a road in Gauri Nagar after him.

The government will also provide a flat and Rs 10 lakh to his family, besides a government job to his daughter.

Earlier, Chouhan welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival at Indore airport enroute to a poll tour in Maharashtra.

The Prime Minister spent some time at the airport and later left for Maharashtra in a helicopter.
