Madhya Pradesh loses two berths in Centre rejig

Madhya Pradesh`s representation at the Centre has come down to two following the Cabinet reshuffle carried out

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh`s representation at
the Centre has come down to two following the Cabinet
reshuffle carried out on Wednesday.

Earlier, there were four ministers from the state at the
Centre, but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh dropped Tribal
Affairs Minister Kantilal Bhuria and Minister of State for
Agriculture Arun Yadav in the exercise.

Bhuria had become the president of Madhya Pradesh
Congress in April this year.

Arun, the son of former Deputy Chief Minister Subhash
Yadav, was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 2007 from
Khargone constituency.

In a consolation of sorts, Congress leader from
Chhattisgarh Charandas Mahant, has been included in the
union ministry as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food
Processing. He has had a long association with Madhya
Pradesh, where he was a minister from 1993 to 2003 in
Digvijay Singh`s government.
