Bhopal: The police have arrested four people in connection with the assault of two Muslim women in Mandsaur railway station in Madhya Pradesh on suspicion of carrying cow meat.

A preliminary investigation later proved it was buffalo meat.

The police have arrested four people viz. Govind, Dilip, Suresh and Vikash on charges of assaulting the women at the railway station.

They reportedly claimed that they are members of a Hindu nationalist group.

According to the victims, the accused approached them as soon as they got off a train and demanded to know what they were carrying.

When they told them that it was buffalo meat, the accused allegedly did not listened to them and adamantly remained stuck with their position.

The situation got worse after the accused beat them up in front of a jeering crowd at the station.

A couple of security personnel deployed at the station even couldn't stop them from attacking the women.
