Mirage 2000 fighter plane crashes in MP

Bhopal: A Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Friday crashed near Bhind in Madhya Pradesh soon after taking off from an air base in Gwalior but both the pilots managed to eject.

The Mirage 2000 aircraft was on a routine training sortie when it developed a snag in the engine and crashed near Bhind district, an IAF spokesperson said in Delhi. He said the two pilots in the aircraft had managed to eject and search and rescue operations have been launched to locate them.

The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry (CoI) to ascertain the reasons behind the crash.
The Air Force operates a fleet of 51 Mirage aircraft from the Maharajpura air base in Gwalior.

These aircraft started getting inducted into the IAF in the mid-80s and have had a very good flight safety record, the spokesperson said.

The IAF has also recently signed two deals worth over USD 3.2 billion for upgrading the capabilities of the Mirage 2000 with French companies Dassault, Thales and MBDA. This is the second crash involving an IAF aircraft this year. A Kiran MK II trainer plane had crashed in Chennai on January 30.

In this financial year, this is the eighth crash of a fighter aircraft of which most were from the MiG 21 series.

We need to develop a proper maintainance schedule within airfore which should laydown all key timeline for check and maintainance , spare replacement . number of maintainace crew on each plane also specified hours of compulsory maintainace for each aircraft each day . 2) We had done so many exercise with various airforces in the world to know what thier skills . But we should also initate a exrcise where India airforce should find out the the maintainance schedule followed n=by rest of the airforeces . Try to get some insight best practices in terms of quality controlls and srevicibility and amaintaince schedule and also the lecvel of skills the main tainance staff have . Also number of man hours spent on each aircraft on mainatinace and regular service .

Now my big sugesstion What is HAL doing? ? what s ists role in IAF maintainace ? Did anyone ever asked government the only service provider to IAF is running without a boss? How is the organization is getting managed to do the work without a boss?? Did anyone raise any question why two out of three Sukhoi 30mki who crashed are of from HAL ?? All from original manufacturer are working well despite of being 15 yr old. HALL should be brought under controll of IAF . It sgould inverst heavily in Quality control in manufacturing ? I mean strict quality control like Boeing & Locheed Martin . They should send thier maintanance engineer to the original manufacturer plant like ( dasult aviationor RAC or Irkut Corporation depending upon the aircraft they are manufacturing ) to learn what is the entire production process and as well as the quality checks . Also the OEM should be brought in India (HAL plant) to come and provide assitance to set up the production plant and also monitor the production here in India (HAL) till some initial squadrons and at last they should certify before leaving that HAL is now capable of producing there aircrafts as per their prescribe standards . This is theonly way to get work from an lazy organization like HAL .

e (Citizens of India + taxpayers ) should put pressure on the government to bring the exact number of basic trainer aircraft needed by airforce . ONLY WTACHING IPL MATCHES AND EAGERLY WAITING FOR SACHIN 100TH CENTURY or PLAYING SOME NICE BOLLYWOOD ITEM Number in you B , C or D segment cars will not solve this problem . (Sorry being harsh on this ) lots depend on us to do . The govenment will not liston till we make it liston . Tell me Mr Max -India , will you join a airforce as fighter pilot with no proper tariner aircraft and well obvious lack in tarining skill?? What i am saying that our boys who join airforce as fighter pilot are best among the best , this is alo true for our maintainnace crew . An i am proud of them . THey join force because for passion and love for thier jobs . Iam 100 % sure and even repeat this again that 100% sure that boy who qualify such a tough exam of NDA +ssb +medical to join airforce , can very easily qualify XAT , MAT, CAT , SAT or any other stupid B-school enterance exam and get any MNC job and be happy. Why to have a life threatening life by choosing to join IAF? . SO PLEASE DO TAKE THEM ORDINARY GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE. But as said by Mr HD singh we are the 4th largets airforce in the world we need to hevvay investment (money + planning + vision) in maintainance schedule .

Do you know which airforce in the world has maximuim hours in the years in training ? Do you know how much indian airforce spent in training hours ? Without knowing the facts its is highly stupid to make some comment like that. First of all agreed what is being said that HD Singh that fighter jet is complex machine . Also if i am not wrong then this is third crash of MIrage-2000 during its almost three decades of awesome service.Here are my few points .

The IAF has some of the finest groundcrew in the world. We have to remember that fighter aircraft are some of the most complicated machinery in the world. The IAF is the fourth biggest Air Force in the world and practice drills and sorties incredibly hard, so it is imperative that snags will occur in the jets. Please think throughthe logic before criticising the institution that protects you.

Why only IAF is crashing so many planes, this is very shameful for IAF they r wasting public money on these ultra expensive machines and crashing them down like paper planes. Pls stop giving stupid reasons that it happened due to technical snag... why dont u guys maintain the planes properly or u dont have well qualified ground staff!!
