MP: BJP govt making false promises, says Cong

The main Opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh has accused the ruling BJP of fooling the people of the state.

Rehti: The main Opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday accused the ruling BJP of "fooling" the people of the state and making false promises to them.

Leader of the Opposition in Assembly Ajay Singh said there was a big difference between what the BJP preached and what it actually practiced.

He was addressing an `Adivasi Swabhimaan Chetna` rally organised here by the state Congress. The meet was organised weeks after the BJP`s `Vanvasi Samman Yatra`, which was addressed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Soon after the yatra, Cooperative Minister GS Bisen had publicly "humiliated" an adivasi by asking him to do push-ups, Singh said.

The Congress leader said his party had always worked for the welfare of the tribals and it would continue to do so.

The Panchayati Raj system, introduced by the Congress, was in doldrums in Madhya Pradesh, he maintained. The Opposition leader said when his father, late Arjun Singh, was the Chief Minister, pro-poor decisions were taken promptly.

But this was not the case with the BJP Government, which has been "fooling" the people and making false promises to them.
