Bhopal: Exhorting the police personnel to act like `Singham`, the character of a tough cop played by actor Ajay Devgn in an eponymous film, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said "real Singhams" are required for better law and order.

Although `Singham` was a movie character, `real Singhams` would be good for maintaining law and order, Chouhan said during an address at the Police Training and Research Institute here last evening.

He asked the policemen to follow the good points of character `Singham` from the movie in their work.

On the occasion, it was also informed that a SMS service has been initiated for the benefit of women to register their complaints, in view of incidents of crime against women and children.

The Chief Minister asked for effective steps to be taken for providing rehabilitation, relief and education to women.

Meanwhile, reacting to Chouhan`s statement on policemen to be like `Singham`, state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria said it appears that the Chief Minister was "influenced by Bollywood".

"Such discourses to policemen do not work," Bhuria said in a statement.
