MP engineer has over Rs four crore illegal assets

An employee of the Rural Engineering Department was allegedly found to possess assets worth over Rs four crore.

Indore: An employee of the Rural Engineering
Department of Madhya Pradesh government was allegedly found to
possess assets worth over Rs four crore, far higher than his
known sources of income, during raids at his premises by a
Lokayukta team here on Tuesday.

Sleuths of Special Establishment Police of Indore
Lokayukta today conducted raid at the premises of Rural
Engineering Department`s superintendent engineer M K Jain
following reports of corruption against him, SP (Lokayukta)
Virendra Singh said.

After the raids and interrogation of the accused, the
Lokayukta team found Rs 2.63 lakh cash, LIC policies worth Rs
16 lakh, cash in bank accounts totalling around Rs six lakh, a
luxury car, four motorcycles, two flats in Sagar, besides a
number of land plots, Singh said.

The accused was also running a drug store in the city and
also has some lockers that needs to be examined, Singh said.
