The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) old boys association of Bhopal Thursday alleged that the Madhya Pradesh government was delaying allotment of land for setting up a varsity campus in the city.

Bhopal: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) old boys association of Bhopal Thursday alleged that the Madhya Pradesh government was delaying allotment of land for setting up a varsity campus in the city.
There has been a plan to open five campus centres of AMU in the country at Mallapuram in Kerala, Murshidabad in West Bengal, Kishanganj in Bihar, Pune in Maharashtra and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, association president Mohd Iqbal Qazi said.

Barring Bhopal, land has already been allotted for four centres and work on setting them up was going on, he said.

Saying that it was wrong to presume that only Muslim students could study in AMU, Qazi mentioned that AMU, Aligarh, has around 40,000 non-Muslim students.
