Bhopal: Bhopal`s "Shahar Qazi", Sayyed Fazil
Qasmi, on Sunday filed a complaint with the local police seeking
action against those circulating SMSs in his name, advising
people not to buy clothes from particular shops.
The Qazi stated in the complaint that neither he nor
anyone associated with him had sent this SMS, and it seemed to
be a mischief aimed at disrupting the communal harmony.
Tension gripped the city a few days ago, when some youths
tried to prevent women from the Muslim community from shopping
by themselves -- without a male relative -- in the local
market, a few days ago.
It had followed a sermon by Qazi regarding whether women
should step out alone for shopping. However, he said his
message had been misunderstood.
The complaint has been registered in the Kotwali Police
Station.
