MP: Sub-engineer found to be worth Rs 2.5 crore

Special Establishment Police of Lokayukta raided property worth Rs 2.5 crores against a sub-engineer of MP Irrigation Dept.

Indore: Special Establishment Police of
Lokayukta on Thursday raided and detected movable and immovable
property worth Rs. 2.5 crores, following a complaint of
corruption and tax-evasion against a sub-engineer of
Madhya Pradesh Irrigation Department.

Fifteen sleuths began searches at engineer RS
Patidar`s main residence in the Sainath colony, and two other
houses allegedly registered in the name of his sons in other
parts of the city, said SP-Lokayukta, Virendra Singh.

The assets included two JCB machines, three tractors, two
cars, six bikes, LIC policies of Rs 17.5 lakh, 100 acres of
land in Nandgaon, Rangaon, Panihar and fixed deposits, the
officer said.

Raids and interrogation of Patidar were still underway.

Final report in the matter would be sent to the state
government for an appropriate action, and Income Tax
department would also be informed, the SP said.
