MP to recruit over 95 thousand teachers

The cabinet approved the proposal to prepare a budget manual, for facilitating an efficient budget drafting.

Bhopal: To meet the huge requirement of teachers following the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, state Government has decided to appoint 95,599 teachers in various categories.

The decision to sanction 95,599 new posts of teachers was taken by the state cabinet at the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, official sources said.

The decision will put a burden of Rs 742.57 crore on the exchequer of, which a major share will be borne by the Centre, the sources said.

Out of the 95,599 posts sanctioned, 31,599 will be of Assistant Teachers, 6,383 of Headmasters of primary schools, 26,026 of Teachers, 5,547 of Headmasters (middle schools), 13,022 of part-time instructors for health and physical education and 13,022 of part-time instructors (arts education).

The state`s Professional Examination Board will recruit these teachers by conducting an examination, and till the process is completed, guest teachers will be appointed against these sanctioned posts.

The cabinet has also decided to establish 100-seat girls hostels in 201 educationally backward development blocks in the state.

Girl students of class IXth to XIIth, belonging to all the sections of society, will be able to stay in these hostels.

These hostels will be for those girls, who lack educational facilities in their villages.

For providing computer education in schools, the cabinet decided to establish modern computer labs in 2,000 government high/higher secondary schools in the state.

In another development, the cabinet approved the proposal to prepare a `budget manual`, for facilitating an efficient budget drafting.

It would cover instructions on budgetary process, cash management, revenue management, loan management, fiscal responsibilities, accounts examination and issues related to Public Accounts Committee.

As per the recommendations of 13th Finance Commission, the cabinet also sanctioned creation of 168 new posts and an action plan totalling Rs 22 crore for the upgradation of Maharaja Tukojirao Hospital, Indore, being run by Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College.
