MP Wakf Board chairman and Congress leader Gufran-e-Azam lashed out at the party for being unresponsive to his advice.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Wakf Board Chairman and Congress leader Gufran-e-Azam on Monday lashed out at the party for being unresponsive to his advice, and said it was not doing anything which could bring it back to the power in the state.

Azam, who became the Chairman of MP Wakf Board after BJP came to power, told reporters here: "The Congress leadership in the state is deaf and dumb and there is no point in giving suggestions to those who can`t see or hear."

When asked about the Congress`s `Mission-2013` to oust BJP from the power, he said he had not heard of any such mission, and did not see any preparations for the Assembly polls underway.
"Congress is not doing anything which can bring it back to power in 2013," he said.

To a question, he said the state Congress chief Kantilal Bhuria was a total failure who did not know how to run an organisation.

Majority of Congress leaders including Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh were junior to him, Azam said, adding that he could not respect a person only because of the post he held. "They all are juniors to me and will remain so."
The Wakf Board chief also said that these days he hardly ever gave a suggestion to the Congress leaders, because whenever he pointed out any shortcoming, their pet reply was that he was going to join BJP.

Azam also said, to a question, that he could not refuse to meet any BJP leader visiting his house.

He was no longer interested in the present-day politics, in which he found himself to be unfit, Azam said.
