Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta on Thursday assured that there will be no tension in the state on account of the four-month long programme on
Hanuman worship announced by VHP, beginning from August 16 (Tulsi Jayanti).
"There can be no tension in Madhya Pradesh due to the worship," the minister told a news agency.
Gupta said the police was always alert and took precautionary measures on such occasions.
VHP international president, Ashok Singhal made the announcement yesterday and said that the worship was part of the movement to build the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
During the state-wide programme named as "Hanuman Shakti Jagran," activists and supporters of the VHP would recite Hanuman Chalisa 11 times every day.
With this, those participating in the programme would resolve that the Ram temple at Ayodhya should be built under a law enacted by the Parliament.
