Madhya Pradesh, Met Department officials said here.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Bhopal,
Hoshangabad, Sagar and Jabalpur divisions in the next 48
hours, Indian Meteorological Department`s Madhya Pradesh
Office Director O P Keswani told PTI.

Rainfall or thunders showers may occur at many parts
of East and South-West Madhya Pradesh and at a few places in
North-West (Gwalior-Chambal) region in the next 24 hours, he
added.

Madhya Pradesh has received 19 cm rainfall so far
against the average 27 cm, the officials said. East MP has
received 23 cm rainfall against 31 cm, while the West MP has
got 16 cm rainfall against the average 24 cm.

Ashok Nagar district has received the highest 170.3 mm
rainfall between 8.30 pm yesterday to 8.30 AM today, they
said.

Bhopal, Jabalpur, Umaria, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Katni,
Seoni, Sidhi, Damoh, Shajapur, Shivpuri and Ujjain, among
other districts, have received rainfall since yesterday, they
said.

A low pressure area over Orissa and Chhattisgarh had
developed which is causing rainfall activities in Madhya
Pradesh, the officials added.
