Mhow (MP): A war veteran and retired
major general Prithvi Raj, who had commanded the 12th Infantry
division under whose command the nuclear tests were conducted
in Pokhran in 1974 on Tuesday passed away here due to old age.
90-year-old Raj, who had commanded an infantry brigade
in Shankargrah sector during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, after he
was commissioned in Dogra regiment of Indian Army, was
cremated with full military honour here in presence of army
officers and jawans.
The illustrious officer is survived by son Lt Gen
Deepak Raj, commandant of Army War College (AWC).
