Sanitary Inspector suspended for Tricolour insult incident

A Sanitary Inspector was on Thursday suspended in connection with an incident related to alleged insult of the Tricolor.

Beed: A Sanitary Inspector was on Thursday
suspended in connection with an incident related to alleged
insult of the tricolor during the Republic Day function at
Ambajogai Municipal Council premises near here.

Sanitary Inspector Anant Vede has been suspended for
the incident yesterday, Chief Officer of the Municipal
Council Devidas Jadhav said.

The national flag, hoisted by of Ambajogai Municipal
Council President Prithviraj Chate, soon fell on the ground.

A man climbed on the pole and put the national flag
back on its place, but it fell again, Zila Parishad member
Sanjay Daund had said in a police complaint.

It is an insult of the national flag, he had said and
demanded action against the persons concerned.

It was Vede`s responsibility to ensure that the rope
and the flag were in good condition and the tricolour was
unfurled in the correct way, Jadhav said.
