Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tuesday directed the Director General of Police (DGP) here to submit a report on assaults on journalists in the state.
The directives were issued after a group of scribes apprised Chouhan about the recent attack on a local journalist Manoj Verma.
Chouhan also asked DGP Surendra Singh to submit a report on the attack on Verma and ensure that those behind the assault will be nabbed soon.
He also directed Commissioner, Public Relations, S K Mishra to ensure that Verma gets proper treatment. He said entire treatment cost will be borne by the state government.
Verma, who works with a local daily, was assaulted by four persons on March 22 near Subhash Nagar railway crossing here, causing grievous injuries to him.
