Sonia should clarify Congress` stand on Ramdev: Uma

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti demanded that Sonia Gandhi clarify whether the statements made by Congress leaders against yoga guru Baba Ramdev were endorsed by her party.

Bhopal: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief
Minister Uma Bharti on Saturday demanded that Sonia Gandhi clarify
whether the statements made by Congress leaders against yoga
guru Baba Ramdev were endorsed by her party.

If the statements asking Ramdev to declare his assets
and source of funding were a part of the "Congress policy"
then Sonia must make public the details of properties owned by
her and her family too, the Hindutva leader told reporters at
her residence here.

Bharti did not name any Congress leader. But recently,
Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh had demanded that
the yoga guru reveal his own sources of income before
targeting Congress on the issue of blackmoney.

Asked whether she would join the political party
that Ramdev was planning to float, Bharti said it was too
early to say anything.

She asserted that she was not quitting politics. "I
will remain in politics till the end of my life," the former
BJP leader said.

Amid reports of her possible return to the BJP, Bharti
had said that she would work along apolitical lines on various
issues of public interest.
