Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday granted conditional permission to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to question Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur in 2007 murder case of former RSS worker Sunil Joshi.

The division bench of Justice Rakesh Saxena and Justice S C Sinho granted NIA the permission on condition that questioning should be done in presence of Pragya's counsel.

Pragya is also an accused in five terror cases that include the bombing of the Samjhouta Express and blasts at Malegaon in Maharashtra and Ajmer in Rajasthan.

RSS worker Sunil Joshi was murdered in Dewas on December 29, 2007 following which a case was registered against Pragya and others by the Madhya Pradesh police, but the matter was later taken over by the NIA.

A special court in Bhopal had already given permission to the central agency to quiz Pragya but she had challenged the order in the high court on the ground that the chargesheet in the case was already submitted by the state police.

After hearing both sides, the division bench gave conditional nod to NIA to question Pragya in the presence of her lawyer.
