Swine flu: One dies in MP, toll rises to 44

Bhopal: With one more person succumbing to
swine flu on Friday, the death toll due to the disease rose
to 44 in Madhya Pradesh since August, Health Department
officials said.

A 20-year-old girl, hailing from neighbouring Vidisha
district, died at Chiraya Hospital here. She had been tested
H1N1 positive on September 7, health officials said.

With today`s death, 18 persons have died of swine flu in
Bhopal so far followed by 16 deaths reported from Indore,
eight from Jabalpur and one each from Gwalior and Harda.

Of the 105 patients with swine flu-like symptoms
undergoing treatment at different hospitals, condition of 18
is stated to be critical, the officials said, adding that
seven people were today tested positive for the influenza.
