Three arrested for raping minor girl in Betul

Betul (MP): Three were arrested here on Wednesday for allegedly raping a a 15-year-old minor girl when she had gone to reply nature's call behind her school, police said.

The arrested accused were identified as Kashinath Yaduvanshi, Santram Yaduvanshi and Golu Yaduvanshi, they said.

The girl studying in Class VIII of government middle school here had gone to reply to nature's call with her friend behind her school when she was allegedly gangraped by the accused on September 23, they said, adding that her friends, however, managed to escape.

According to the victim, the accused had threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed to anybody about the incident.

She, however, told about it to her mother yesterday, who approached police today and lodged the complaint, police said.

The police after the medical test of the girl arrested the accused.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of IPC and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, since the victim belongs to tribal community.
