Villagers drove away government officials, employees and their vehicle from the `haat bazaar` of Khistaun village panchayat.

Tikamgarh: Villagers drove away government officials, employees and their vehicle from the `haat bazaar` of Khistaun village panchayat in Prithvipur assembly constituency of the district when they reached there to publicise welfare schemes run by the BJP government.

Khistaun village panchayat sarpanch Chintaman Kushwaha told PTI that the publicity vehicle had reached there to villagers of government schemes.

When state government officials were making video presentations of Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Atal Jyoti Abhiyan and Antyodaya Yojana, villagers ran amok, Kushwaha said, adding that villagers were saying that they did not benefit from any of these schemes, as all the shops have been alloted to BJP workers or get any power supply in their villages.
Villagers surrounded the publicity vehicle and quarrelled with officials, the sarpanch said, adding he intervened and managed to get the vehicle and officials out of the `haat bazaar` area.
