Jabalpur: Fearing threat to his life, Indian Medical Association (IMA) district president Sudhir Chaudhary on Monday sought security from police shortly after body of Arun Sharma, dean of Jabalpur's NS medical college, was found in a Delhi hotel.
“I was told that Dean had submitted over 200 documents about Vyapam scam to STF which needs to accept,” he told ANI.
He added, “I won't name my source, his life is in danger, even my life is in danger.”
Chaudhary further said that since morning, he has been trying to give a memorandum to IG stating that his life is in danger. “But I am unable to find him,” he told ANI.
Tiwari had earlier earlier demanded a CBI probe into the death of the dean of government medical college DK Sakalle, whose burnt body as found in his bungalow in the college campus under mysterious circumstances on July 4, 2014.
Claiming that Sakalle was killed by "Chinese laser gun", Tiwari rubbished police's finding that the dean committed suicide.
He said that Sakalle was a forensic expert and would not have opted to end his life in such a painful way.
Sakalle was scrutinising documents of MBBS students who had come under the scanner after the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board scam came to light.
MPPEB scam, popularly known as Vyapam scam, refers to a massive admission and recruitment racket involving politicians, bureaucrats and middlemen which came to light first in 2013.
