Raisen (MP): In a rare incident, a widow lit
the funeral pyre of her father-in-law to fulfil his wish here,
sources said.
Devanti Chandel, last evening, lit the funeral pyre of
her father-in-law, Kishan Lal Chandel (75), a resident of
Arjun Nagar, who passed passed away after prolonged illness,
they said.
Earlier, Kishal Lal, a retired employee of Madhya Pradesh
State Electricity Board (MPSEB) had wished that his
daughter-in-law light his pyre after his death as his lone son
and Devanti's husband, Rajendra Chandel had died five years
ago, the sources said.
There was no other person in Kishan Lal's family except
his wife Ram Bai and daughter-in-law Devanti. After his son's
demise, he treated Devanti as his son, they added.
