Nanded: Three policemen were injured after
TDP activists, who had gathered to protest the arrest of party
chief N Chandrababu Naidu, pelted stones at them at Andhra
Pradesh-Maharashtra border here today afternoon, police
"Around 500 TDP workers had gathered in Basar village,
which lies on the border. However, as prohibitory orders were
in place, police asked them to vacate the area following which
they pelted stones at the police," they said.

during the protest over an irrigation project in Babhli and
remanded to two days judicial custody yesterday after they
refused to take bail.
According to government sources, Naidu today rejected a
proposal of the district administration for a medical check-up
and has sat on a strike demanding that he be allowed to
inspect the Babhli project site.
Meanwhile, the all-party Babhli Kruti Samithi today
demanded that the state government send Naidu back to Andhra
Pradesh and said that it will call for a Nanded bandh tomorrow
if the TDP leader`s stir continues.
Addressing media-persons here, Congress MP from Nanded
Bhaskarrao Patil, said, "the state government should act
instantly and deport Naidu back to Andhra Pradesh. The
situation in Dharmabad is very tense and there are
possibilities of violence."
