Action against guilty in tribal welfare scheme soon: Raut

Expressing displeasure over the complaints of distribution of defective bicycles to the beneficiaries of the Tribal Development Scheme, district Guardian Minister said strict action would be taken against the guilty.

Yavatmal: Expressing displeasure over the complaints of distribution of defective and substandard bicycles to the beneficiaries of the Tribal Development Scheme, district Guardian Minister Nitin Raut said strict action would be taken against the guilty.

"The guilty would be suspended soon and a probe would be conducted to ascertain the veracity of the allegations," he said here.

"Stringent action would be taken against officers found guilty of dereliction of their duties. They are expected to co-operate and co-ordinate developmental works could be
expedited and the targeted objectives can be achieved," he said.
Raut, who reviewed the developmental work being carried out by various departments in the district yesterday, asked the district administration to give utmost emphasis to ensure
all round development of the district. Raut said natural resources like forest wealth, minerals and agriculture produces like cotton should be taken into account in vision 2020 document for the district.

"My effort will be concentrated on the developmental aspects and the departmental heads should not bring any hindrance to it," he said, adding that there were cases of the
sanctioned fund returning to the Govt unutilized which should not be repeated.
"I will return to Yavatmal again on Tuesday and would take stock of the progress in the shaping of the vision document," he further said.
