The CBI arrested three state government officials in connection with the Adarsh Housing Society missing files case.

Mumbai: The CBI on Thursday arrested three state
government officials in connection with the Adarsh Housing
Society missing files case.

Desk officer G Wajpe, Assistant Town Planner N N Narvekar
and Waman Rawool, all officials of the State Urban Development
Department, were arrested this evening, a senior CBI official
said.

"The three accused were the last ones to have dealt with
the missing file. During the questioning, they did not give
clear answers, so they were arrested," the official said.

They will be produced before Special CBI Court tomorrow.

After the scam came to light last September, some
important files regarding the building were found to have been
missing from the office of UDD.

Incidentally, while hearing a PIL regarding the scam this
afternoon, Bombay High Court had rapped CBI for neglecting
"the missing files case", directing the agency to focus on it
too.
