Another Maha MLC alleges `forgery` in signature

MLC Kapil Patil told council chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh that some unknown persons "faked" his signature with malafide intentions.

Mumbai: Close on the heels of a Shiv Sena MLC
bringing it to the notice of the Legislative Council the
instance of alleged forging of her signature, another member
today came up with the same grievance seeking intervention of
the House in the "mischief".

Shiv Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe had last week complained that
some people "forged" her signature on the documents she had
filed with the Legislative Council Secretariat.

MLC Kapil Patil told council chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh
that some unknown persons "faked" his signature with malafide
intentions to raise issues in regard to Bhiwandi town in
neighbouring Thane district and sought a debate on them.

"I had signed documents in Marathi. But the papers
submitted to hold discussion on the issues of Bhiwandi has my
signature in English," Patil said.
Terming it as a serious issue, the member said, "someone
was trying to play a mischief by doing so".

Deshmukh who had ordered a CID inquiry into the complaint
of the Shiv Sena MLC, appealed to the members to come up with
the measures to curb such incidents.
