They were found to be living in Dombivili, a suburb of Mumbai, without valid passports or documents, they said. Acting on specific information, Crime Branch officials raided Motha Gaon, Bhagwan Bhoir Chawl, Motagaon Railway crossing and Motagaon Navapada areas and rounded up the foreign citizens, all working as labourers, they said.

They have been booked under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, 946 and Passport Act, 1967.

Two agents, who helped the Bangladeshi nationals sneak into India, have also been nabbed, police said.

Addressing a press conference, Milind Bharambhe, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), said over the last one month the police had intensified search for Bangladeshi nationals residing in the city without proper documents.

The drive is yielding desired result, he said, adding those arrested will be sent back to their country after due process.
