"It (action against Dhananjay) is under consideration
of the party. Whatever the state unit recommends, we will look
into it," BJP General Secretary in-charge of Maharashtra
Venkaiah Naidu told reporters here.
Naidu was here to attend a meeting of BJP leaders held
to discuss next month's elections to 10 Municipal Corporations
in the state. State BJP President Sudhir Mungantiwar and chief
of Mumbai unit Raj Purohit, among others, attended the meet.
Dhananjay, a member of Legislative Council, yesterday
attended a NCP function where Munde's elder brother Panditanna
joined the Sharad Pawar-led party. The function was held in
Munde family's home turf, Parli in Marathwada region.
Speaking at the function, Dhananjay said he was still
with BJP but would take a "final decision" on future course of
action after hearing from the saffron party.
"It is unfortunate that differences have emerged in
the (Munde) family. Our party does not function on the basis
of personalities but ideology. Gopinath Munde is our well-
known leader and nobody can weaken him," Naidu stated.
"As clarified by our party President Nitin Gadkari,
election tickets will be given to good candidates who have
worked at grassroots level," he said.
The former BJP President expressed confidence that his
party will put up a good show in the civic body polls.
Dhananjay had backed a BJP rebel in the just-held
election for Chairmanship of Parli Municipal Council against
the official candidate nominated by Munde.
Mumbai: BJP on Friday said it is mulling
action against party MLC and senior leader Gopinath Munde's
nephew Dhananjay, who is hobnobbing with NCP leaders.
