Nagpur: Two sitting BJP corporators including a former deputy mayor of the city Majid Shola and a nominated corporator Raman Paigwar are among the four who have joined the Congress.
With this move, the ruling BJP received a set back ahead of the Municipal Corporation elections due next year.
Shola, who represents Muslim locality Hasan Bagh and Paigwar, who was nominated corporator along with former city youth Congress President Anil Machale and NCP corporator Anil Pande joined Congress on Sunday at the function. Paigwar is also a former city Youth Congress President.
The quartet joined Congress during the felicitation ceremony of city MP and former Union Minister for Renewable Energy, Vilas Muttemwar on his appointment as the party
General Secretary recently.
They were weclomed by Muttemwar along with City Congress President Jaiprakash Gupta and others at Devadia Congress Bhawan.
