Bombay HC refuses to hear Pacheco`s bail plea

The Bombay HC has refused to hear bail plea filed by ex-Goa Tourism Minister Fransisco Pacheco.

Panaji: The Bombay High Court today
refused to hear the bail petition filed by former Goa Tourism
Minister Fransisco Pacheco, arrested in connection with the
death of his close friend Nadia Torrado.

Justice Nelson Britto of the Goa bench of the court
refused the matter when it came for hearing before him.

The state police Crime Branch accused the former
minister for his involvement in the death of 28-year-old
Nadia, who allegedly consumed rat poison and died on May 30.

Pacheco`s lawyer Amit Palekar said that they will now
write to Chief Justice of Bombay High court seeking a bench to
hear the bail plea.

Pacheco was arrested on July 8 and remanded to police
custody for seven days by Margao`s Judicial Magistrate First
Class (JMFC). He will be produced before a local court today
for extension of his remand which ends today.
