Mumbai: A special investigation team on Friday filed a supplementary chargesheet against six persons, five of them policemen, in the Ramnarayan Gupta fake encounter case.
Before this, charghesheets had been filed against 13 persons including "encounter specialist" police inspector Pradeep Sharma. Gupta, alias Lakhan Bhaiyya, was killed in an encounter by police in November 2006, but magistrate`s inquiry found that he was in police custody when he died.
Chargesheet was filed on Friday against inspector Dilip Palande, sub-inspectors Anand Patade and Ganesh Harkude, constables Prakash Kadam and Pandurang Kokam, and one Janardan Bhanage. The fake encounter was allegedly carried out at the behest of Bhanage, Gupta`s business rival.

special team to probe it.
