Mumbai: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram
on Monday night reviewed the security situation in the city and
discussed steps to enhance the apparatus at a meeting with
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and senior
officials of the state government.
Chavan briefed the Union Home Minister of investigations
into the July 13 triple bomb blasts in Mumbai and the security
measures being taken to prevent any such incidents in the
future, sources in the Chief Minister`s office said.
The meeting pertained to discussion on internal security,
including enhancement of Mumbai`s security apparatus, they
said.
Chidambaram was also briefed about the recent visit of
the high level state government delegation to London to study
the CCTV network and measures which the state government plans
to take learning from the experience, the sources added.
Describing the meeting as informal, the sources said it
was attended by state Home Minister RR Patil, and senior
officials of the Mumbai police, Anti-terrorism squad and
government officials.
