Miraj: A 30-year-old woman allegedly
committed suicide in Miraj town of Sangli district in western
Maharashtra as she was apparently upset over the government
stand on the hunger strike by Anna Hazare.
Shubhangi Vinayak Karande, a married woman, committed
suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling in her house in
Miraj-wes area of the town this evening, police said.
The suicide note mentioned that "Hazare was on fast in
Delhi against the corruption, but the government was not
paying heed to it, and was not doing anything", police said.
But the note also mentioned "inflation" as one of the
reasons, police said. A probe is on.
