‘Common Man` garlanded in Pune to celebrate Hazare`s success

Pune: In a unique symbolism, a statue of
R K Laxman`s famous `Common Man` here was garlanded Saturday to
celebrate the success of hunger strike undertaken by Anna
Hazare over Lokpal Bill issue.

A life-size statue of the Common Man stands in the
premises of Symbiosis college here.

It became a rallying point for the activists celebrating
after Hazare ended the fast in New Delhi.

Crackers were burst in front of the Pune Municipal
Corporation (PMC).

Last night, a candle-light march had been organized to
express solidarity with Hazare.
