Mumbai: Congress and Shiv Sena supporters on Friday had a face off at Dadar in central Mumbai while the Maharashtra-based party candidates were filing nomination.

Sena candidate from Mahim, Aadesh Bandekar, and his
supporters objected to the vehicles parked by Congress
minister Narayan Rane and former Sena MLA Sada Sarvankar
outside the returning office.

They demanded their removal, which led to slogan-shouting
from both sides.

Police, however, brought the situation under control.

Sarvankar joined Congress yesterday, as he was denied
ticket by Sena for Assembly polls on October 13 from Mahim
constituency.
Aadesh said, "They (Congress activists) violated Election
Commission norms and I will complain about it to our party
leaders."
