He was 92. Kale was elected twice from Ahmednagar assembly seat in 1978 and 1991 on Congress ticket. He served as Minister of State for Education and Co-operation from 1978-80.
Besides, he was president of Ahmednagar Zilla Parishad, Ahmednagar district Congress Committee chief, founder Chairman of kopargaon sahakari sakhar karkhana, and Chairman of kopargaon based gautam education society.
He remained chairman of Satara's famous Rayat Shikashan Sanstha for 15 years.
The former MP is survived by one son -- Ashokrao Kale, sitting Shiv Sena MLA from Kopargaon and daughter-- Snehlata Shinde. The last rites will take place tomorrow at Kale's birth place at Mahegaon in Ahmednagar district.
