Council biennial poll: NCP to decide Thane nominee on May 3

NCP will on May 3 declare its candidate for the May 28 biennial election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council from Thane self government local bodies.



Mumbai: NCP will on May 3 declare its
candidate for the May 28 biennial election to the Maharashtra
Legislative Council from Thane self government local bodies.

The NCP`s State Parliamentary Board met here this
afternoon and met aspiring candidates, including the sitting
MLC Vasant Davkhare, who is the Deputy Chairman of the Upper
House, party General Secretary Gurunath Kulkarni said.

Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Home MInister R
R Patil, Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil, Tribal
Minister Babanrao Pachpute and State NCP President Madhukar
Pichad were among those present at the meet.

Davkhare has completed three terms as MLC. The process
of filing of nominations will begin from May 4.
