Mumbai: Power and water supply to Adarsh
Housing Society in Colaba in south Mumbai, which is the
subject of a major controversy, was cut off on Tuesday, after MMRDA
revoked the Society's occupancy certificate.
"We have disconnected the power supply to the society
from today evening at 6 pm," BEST General Manager O P Gupta
said.
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST),
that is responsible for supplying electricity from Colaba to
Mahim, had sent two notices to the Society, giving it
deadlines of 24 hours to produce the OC.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) also
disconnected the water supply to the society this morning,
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Dinesh Gondalia said.
