Ex-Sena Mayor quits party post after BMC poll loss

Mumbai: Former city Mayor Milind Vaidya has resigned as Vibhaag Pramukh of Shiv Sena's Dadar unit owning moral responsibility for the drubbing the party suffered in his area.

MNS has won all seats from Dadar area in the February 16 civic polls.

Vaidya, who himself lost the election, On Sunday said he was quitting as 'Vibhaag Pramukh' due to the Sena candidates' poor performance in Dadar.

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray is understood to have discussed the poor performance of the party in Dadar with senior leader Manohar Joshi, who lives in that area.
