Nagpur: The first public meeting of the
Vidarbha Rajya Sangram Samiti, an all-party committee formed
to spearhead a separate Vidarbha agitation, will be held in
temple town of Shegaon tomorrow.
The meeting is part of series of programmes including
mass contact campaign, signature drive, public meetings and
`jail bharo` agitation planned by the Samiti.
The second meeting would be held in Nagpur on February 20
and will be followed by `jail bharo` agitation.
Samiti leaders on the forefront of agitation, former
Union Minister and Nagpur MP Vilas Muttemwar, former MP
Prakash Ambedkar, Wardha MP Datta Meghe, former Pradesh
Congress Committee chief Ranjeet Deshmukh and former MP
Jambuwantrao Dhote will be the main speakers besides MLAs and
other elected representatives from the region.
