Mumbai: Maharashtra government today said
food prices would come down further as there has been a good
crop yield in kharif season.
"There has been a good crop yield in kharif season
across the state which would definitely bring down the food
prices," Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh
informed the Legislative Council.
Elaborating on the state government?s efforts to
control food prices, Deshmukh said the government has already
given subsidised food through Antyoday scheme and also to BPL
families.
"For the first time, a crore APL families were also
given subsidised food and the Government sanctioned Rs 532
crore for that," Deshmukh said.
