Nagpur: A case has been filed against former MLA from Chimur (Chandrapur district), Avinash Warjurkar, for allegedly assaulting a person and trespassing.

Police said one Sanjay Patrange, who was staying in a rented accommodation, lodged a complaint that Warjurkar and two others, Sanjay Udhoji and Vivek Udhoji, forcibly entered his house yesterday and removed his belongings.

The house, originally belonging to Udhoji, was disposed of to Warjurkar, who wanted to take possession of the property, police said.

In his complaint with Dhantoli police, Patrange said his valuables, including silver coins and other goods worth Rs 70,000, were missing.

Warjurkar is also the former chairman of Maharashtra State Mining Development Corporation (MSMDC).

An offence was registered against the trio yesterday, though no one has been arrested so far, police said.
