Yavatmal: Four farmers allegedly committed suicide in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra on Wednesday, according to NGOs.
The deceased included Vasram Rathod of Bothbodan in Yavatmal district.
Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti`s Santosh Naitam claimed that all of them were debt-ridden.
Rathod was the 24th farmer in Yavatmal district to commit suicide since 2006, according to locals.
Village Sarpanch Balasaheb Chavan claimed that Rathod owed over Rs 2 lakh to the lenders, and had had a failed cotton crop.
