New Delhi: Mahatma Gandhi's spectacles has gone missing from Sevagram Ashram in Wardha in Maharashtra and the state government has initiated a probe into the incident.

Culture Minister Kumari Selja told Lok Sabha on Tuesday that a spectacles, which was handed over by Nirmala Behn Gandhi, daughter-in-law of Mahatma Gandhi in 1985 to keep it in Ashram, has gone missing.

"The state government has initiated investigations through CID and the investigation is still continuing," she said in a written reply.

She also said necessary security arrangements to safeguard memorabilia belonging to Gandhi have been made by the Ashram.
