Govt pleader gets one year jail in corruption case
A government pleader has been sentenced to one year imprisonment on charges of accepting bribe from a litigant to settle a case.

bribe from a litigant to settle a case.
The court has also slapped a fine of Rs 3,000 against him
under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

sessions court sentenced the accused government pleader Dilip
Thakre under two sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
The government pleader was sentenced to six months jail
and a fine of Rs 1,000 under section 7 of the Act. He was also
sentenced to one year jail and fine of Rs 2,000 in this case.

According to prosecution, the accused government pleader
had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 from one Baban Ingole for
disposing of a case against him as the complainant Latabai
Dadarao was remaining absent frequently in a case of beating
and abusing lodged against him in 2002.
However, Ingole accepted the deal and approached the Anti
Corruption Bureau in Akola, which laid a trap and the caught
the government pleader red-handed while accepting the bribe of
Rs 1,000 on October 18, 2002.
