Heavy rains claim two lives in Nagpur

Nagpur: Two persons were killed since yesterday as heavy rains lashed the city and adjoining areas.

Two bodies were found, one each in Besa Beltarodi and another one in adjoining area this morning, police said.
Nagpur city received more than 180 mm rains during last 24 hours till 8-30 am today and entire city was flooded with water and some parts were submerged.

Fire Brigade and civic authorities were on toes to pump out water in some places.

Also, vehicular traffic on busy State Highway Nagpur-Chandrapur road was affected as water was overflowing at the bridge near Chandrapur.

Apart from Nagpur, Bramhapuri in Chandrapur recorded 147 mm rainfall. Other parts of Vidarbha region including Wardha, Gondia, Yavatmal also recieved heavy showers.
